Welcome to the 5th biennial ESES Congress in Gothenburg May 24-26, 2012
On behalf of the organizing committee we would like to welcome all members of The European Society of Endocrine Surgeons (ESES) and guests to Gothenburg and the 5th biennial ESES Congress. Since the start in Pisa (2004) the biennial congresses have been very successful meeting points for endocrine surgeons from all over Europe, also for international guests. In spite of the young age of the society the scientific program has reached a high standard and the social program has been highly appreciated.
It is a great pleasure to invite you all to Scandinavia and Gothenburg in May 2012. May usually is a nice time to visit Sweden with long light evenings. Gothenburg is the second largest city in Sweden with approximately 600 000 inhabitants. This makes the city easily overlooked and most points of interest can be reached by foot or by catching one of the typical blue trams going all over the town. Gothenburg is considered to be a friendly and very safe city. It is situated on the Swedish west coast and the harbour and vicinity to the sea makes the maritime character of the city very obvious.
The congress venue will be Svenska Mässan situated within the city center. The congress hotel is Gothia Towers Hotel in direct connection with Svenska Mässan. Some alternative hotels at different price levels are located at walking distance. The social program will include a welcome reception in the City Hall and a gala dinner in an old restaurant situated on a nice island of the archipelago close to Gothenburg.
It is our ambition and we will do our very best to repeat the successful previous ESES congresses and we look forward to welcome you in Gothenburg in May 2012.
